Location

Singapore, officially the Republic of Singapore, is a sovereign island city-state in Southeast Asia. Getting from Singapore Changi Airport to the city center is convenient and efficient. A taxi ride to most city hotels takes approximately 20-30 minutes, with an estimated fare of SGD $25-$40, depending on traffic conditions.

Singapore’s extensive public transportation network includes taxis, private-hire services like Grab, buses, and the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) system. The MRT is a cost-effective option, with a direct line connecting Changi Airport to the city center in about 30-40 minutes.

April in Singapore falls within the inter-monsoon period, characterized by warm temperatures and occasional thunderstorms. Average daily temperatures range between 25 - 32°C (77 - 90°F), with high humidity levels throughout the day. Rainfall is moderate, with short, heavy showers typically occurring in the afternoon.

Currency

Singapore’s national currency is the Singapore Dollar (SGD), which comes in denominations of $2, $5, $10, $50, $100, $500, and $1,000 notes. Coins come in 1, 5, 10, 20, and 50 cents and one-dollar denominations. Credit cards are widely accepted in most restaurants, malls, and shops. Tipping is not customary but appreciated for excellent service.
