LOCATION
Paris is the capital and most-populous city of France. Situated on the Seine River, in the north of the country. The City of Paris has an area of 105.4 square kilometres (40.7 square miles) and had a population of 2,241,346 within its city limits.
Paris is the home of the most visited art museum in the world, the Louvre, as well as the Musée d'Orsay, noted for its collection of French Impressionist art, and the Musée National d'Art Moderne, a museum of modern and contemporary art. The notable architectural landmarks of Paris include Notre Dame Cathedral (12th century) the Sainte-Chapelle (13th century) the Eiffel Tower (1889) and the Basilica of Sacré-Cœur on Montmartre (1914). In 2014 Paris received 22.4 million visitors, making it one of the world's top tourist destinations.

Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport
The busy Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport, sometimes referred to as Roissy Airport, is situated 23kms northeast of the heart of Paris.

Taxi
TAXI PARISIEN: Paris and its suburbs have nearly 18,000 licensed taxis.
The fees range from a maximum €30 for a journey from Paris south of the Seine to Orly airport, to €55 from southern Paris to Roissy Charles-de-Gaulle.
The other fixed maximums are €50 for northern Paris to Charles-de-Gaulle and €35 from northern Paris to Orly.
CURRENCY
In France the currency is the Euro € (EUR). Banknotes are issued in the following denominations: €5, €10, €20, €50, €100, €200 and €500. Coins in use are called Cents and are issued in the following denominations: 1c, 2c, 5c, 10c, 20c, 50c, €1, €2. (€1= 100c).
WEATHER
Temperatures in the spring months climb to a comfortable 20°C by May, but nights can still be chilly in early spring, so bring a jacket and a sweater. You can expect rain roughly 1 day in 3 during the spring, but it's not torrential by any means.
