The IECQ System provides the industry with a supply chain verification tools for seeking assurance that electronic components, assemblies, processes and related materials conform to declared technical standards and specifications. The IECQ System ensures global harmonization of the certification process, with a single set of standard operating rules and procedures adopted by all IECQ conformity assessment bodies (CBs).

Conformity assessment bodies (CBs) that may wish to participate in the IECQ System and be given the right to issue international IECQ certificates shall comply with IECQ 02, General requirements for the acceptance of IECQ certification bodies into the IECQ System, these rules of procedure set out the application, assessment and surveillance process for bodies seeking to be accepted and maintain acceptance as IECQ conformity assessment bodies (IECQ CBs). These rules of procedure are to be used in conjunction with the IECQ System management Basic Rules (IEC CA 01 + IECQ 01-S).

Conformity assessment bodies wishing to participate in the IECQ System and be part of the IECQ conformity assessment bodies’ committee (CABC) in accordance with the IECQ System management Basic Rules (IEC CA 01 + IECQ 01-S) and IECQ 02, General requirements for the acceptance of IECQ certification bodies into the IECQ System, are required to complete an application form Form CB Application. Applicant conformity assessment bodies shall obtain endorsement from one of the IECQ MBs as part of their application.

For existing IECQ CBs seeking an extension of scope to cover other IECQ programmes, form Form CB Extension of Scope shall be completed and submitted to the IECQ secretariat.

While IECQ 02 rules of procedure contain general assessment procedures for the qualification of IECQ CBs, additional requirements beyond those covered may apply for the respective IECQ certification schemes. Such additional requirements are detailed in the relevant scheme’s rules of procedure.
